Small-leaf Arrowwood Viburnum obovatum is a shrub or small (10’ X 6’) tree, native to extreme southeastern Alabama, southwestern Georgia, and northwestern Florida. It has dense, small leaves almost year-round and displays white clusters of flowers in early Spring. This species tolerates a wide variety of soil types.
Small-leaf Arrowwood makes an excellent screening hedge and provides food for native caterpillars, pollinators, and birds. ‘Mrs. Schiller’s Delight’ is a small (6′ X 8′), more compact cultivar of the straight species.
