Purple Passionflower Passiflora incarnata is a tendril-climbing vine that occurs statewide in open woods, fields, thickets, and along roadsides and fencerows. It bears complex, pink to lavender flowers May – October. Purple Passionflower thrives in full sun and tolerates most soil types. This species is the host plant for caterpillars of the Gulf Fritillary, Variegated Fritillary, and Zebra butterflies.
