Native Plants in an Evolving Environment – Picayune MS

September 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Native species are a sizzling hot topic these days, but precisely what are “native plants?” The answers can take you in many directions, and this dynamic journey continues to have many twists and turns. Paul Andres will discuss what makes a native plant and the factors that determine why native species are critical in nature’s future. He will cover recent changes to growing zones and annual growing seasons, to the dirt beneath your feet. Come prepared for a wide-open exchange of ideas! Discussion is welcome, and there will be time for questions at the end. Paul is retired, with a strong science and math background, and is a lifelong gardener. Plants are a thread woven throughout his tapestry. Members $3, non-members $6.
