The Baton Rouge Botanic Garden Foundation will host a FREE Garden Discoveries event, “Beyond the Lawn: Cultivating Natural Communities,” led by Ashlee Brackeen and Caitlin Robbins, Owners of Swamp Fly Native Landscapes.
Join us at the library for a presentation on effective strategies for reintegrating natural plant communities into the landscape. Ashlee Brackeen and Caitlin Robbins, owners of Swamp Fly Native Landscapes, will share insights on their strategies to replace conventional landscapes with natural plant communities. They will guide you through designing spaces that not only enhance your surroundings but also preserve our local ecology. Discover how diverse, sustainable plantings can support wildlife, enhance biodiversity, and create dynamic, resilient ecosystems. This session is ideal for anyone eager to foster natural habitats and promote environmental sustainability in their own backyards.
Weather permitting, a tour will follow in the Baton Rouge Botanic Gardens located in BREC Independence Park adjacent to the Library.
