“Can’t Beat ‘Em? Eat ‘Em!” LSU Hilltop Arboretum

Join Hilltop Arboretum’s Discover Nature Program for an evening with Acclaimed Chef Philippe Parola as we learn about the concept of “invasivorism” and how we can be part of an edible solution. Chef Parola is known for crafting recipes to combat the spread of invasive species and believes that harnessing the power of human appetites could knock back many of the critters that are wreaking havoc on Louisiana’s ecosystems. All the nutria gobbling up coastal wetlands? Stew ’em! The feral hogs ripping up forests? Grind ’em into sausage! The carp crowding out native fish? Poach ‘em in white wine and lemon juice!

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to sample a few of Chef’s famous recipes.
